#5 RSS

RSS is rather addictive. I had a million blog subscriptions and had to give them up for the chore of 'marking all as read'. The only problem is that you lose touch with the actual blog and its comments and it's not nearly as pretty to look at because of it being text based. although you don't get all the ads that can appear on people's blogs. i particularly like drooling over foodie blogs and the threethousand.com(.au?) website is great for melb events and art openings which i would never know about otherwise. have also been known to take google reader up on it's suggested sites, it does get quite clever with your interests. libraries could easily get involved with advertising their events, or new acquisitions in this way, they only need to be very quick entries and its an speedy way to get the info out there.
